“WE’RE HAVING THIS PARTY. PLEASE COME. IT WON’T BE THE SAME WITHOUT YOU. PLEASE COME.”
BE SURE TO READ THE POST-NOTE FOR ADDITIONAL INFO/FUN.
Taken from the title of one of the closing tracks off of Dear You, “Sluttering (May 4th)” (a portmanteau of “slurred sturrering” in Blake Schwarzenbach’s words), May 4th has become the all-but-official Jawbreaker Holiday. To celebrate, we’re throwing a Jawbreaker cover show, known affectionately as Job: Raker, and we’d love to see you there. It’s been nearly 20 years since Jawbreaker played their last show, and nearly 30 years since they first formed as a band, so it seemed like there could be no better time than now to throw a party!
So with that in mind, if you’ve got a band that wants to throw together a cover set of a band from that era then we’d love to have you! Message Andon for more info.
POST-NOTE: This is a two-part celebration! The first show is taking place on Wednesday, May 4th at the 89th Street Collective. The second show is a song-for-song cover of Jawbreaker’s second-to-last show from 20 years ago (May 18th, 1996), taking place on Wednesday, May 18th at a TBD venue. Stay tuned for more info on the second show!
